The Flexible coupling contains an elastic compound with pre-stressed rubber, which provides additional strength and extended service life. The coupling can accommodate all types of deviations. The hub is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, which is both lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The rubber component is mainly used for shock absorption, making the power transmission smooth and quiet, thereby protecting the drive force and the driven machine.
Easy to install, since the rubber part is a split insert, it can be inserted after the shaft is aligned.
The elastic coupling uses a parallel or spiral groove system to adapt to various deviations and accurately transmit torque. Elastic couplings usually have good performance and price advantages. In many practical applications of stepper and servo systems, elastic couplings are the preferred products. The one-piece design enables the elastic coupling to achieve the advantages of zero-gap torque transmission and maintenance-free. There are two basic series of elastic couplings: spiral groove type and parallel groove type.

Application
Most flexible couplings are made of aluminum alloy, and some manufacturers also provide flexible couplings made of stainless steel. In addition to corrosion resistance, stainless steel flexible couplings also increase torque bearing capacity and rigidity, even up to twice that of similar products made of aluminum alloy. However, this increased torque and rigidity will be offset to a certain extent by the increased mass and inertia. Sometimes the negative effects will outweigh the advantages, so users have to look for other forms of couplings.
